- Check council: flood maps and local developments planned for the area.

- Check Council approvals for all improvements: such as shed, pool etc
- Obtain floor plan
- Talk to neighbours
- Check for easements and encumbrances
- Measure spaces: fridge, garage height, side access
- Understand fees: body corporate, council rates, including water
- Consider changing locks after purchase
